In Viral, a mysterious virus spreads across a small town in California, turning people into violent, zombie-like creatures. Two sisters, Emma and Stacey, must fend for themselves as their parents are trapped outside the quarantine zone. As the virus takes hold of Stacey, Emma must make a difficult decision to save her sister and themselves from the infected. They team up with their neighbor, Evan, and try to survive the chaos that ensues. The movie takes a dark turn as Emma is forced to confront the harsh reality of the virus and the sacrifices she must make to stay alive. Will they be able to escape the quarantine zone and find safety, or will they succumb to the virus?
