Maverick

Bret Maverick is a gambler and con artist who needs $3,000 to enter a high-stakes poker tournament on a riverboat. He travels to a small town to collect debts and win money, but ends up encountering a group of bandits, missionaries, and other colorful characters. Along the way, he forms an unlikely partnership with Annabelle Bransford, a young con artist, and Marshal Zane Cooper. The trio narrowly escapes danger multiple times and Maverick manages to swindle an Archduke out of the needed amount. They finally reach the riverboat and enter the tournament, where Maverick faces off against Angel, a ruthless gambler who has it out for him. With the help of his quick thinking and card-playing skills, Maverick emerges victorious and wins the $500,000 prize money.
