Back to 1989 is a Taiwanese series that follows the story of a young man named Che Chen who, despite his successful career as an assistant manager for an investment trust, has always felt like something is missing in his life. He never knew his father, and his single mother has always been tight-lipped about the subject. One day, Che is sent back in time to 1989, the year before he was born, due to a freak accident. He soon discovers that the naïve and trusting young woman he meets, Zhen Zhen Ye, is actually his mother's best friend. As Che navigates this unfamiliar world, he learns that anything he does in 1989 could alter his mother's future. Will he do anything to alter the course of his own life?
