Strangely insightful. Poetic in it's everyday drama. Deeply touching and unforgetable. But also a tiny bit too self aware.
The dynamic between Phoenix and young Woody Norman... is the key to this film, and they are terrific together, but never in a cutesy, actor-ish way.
