Turner & Hooch

Turner & Hooch is a 1989 American buddy cop comedy film directed by Roger Spottiswoode and starring Tom Hanks as Detective Scott Turner. The movie follows Scott, a meticulous and uptight detective, who is forced to team up with Hooch, a slobbering dog, to solve a murder case. The film begins with Scott being bored with his job in Cypress Beach and planning to transfer to Sacramento. However, his plans are put on hold when his friend Amos Reed is murdered by an affiliate of local seafood magnate Walter Boyett. As Amos' only witness is Hooch, a massive Dogue de Bordeaux that Amos owned, Scott reluctantly takes the dog in. Scott soon discovers that taking care of Hooch is no easy task as the dog's destructive nature wreaks havoc on his home and disrupts his carefully planned lifestyle. Despite their differences, the duo works together to solve Amos' murder case while also forming an unlikely friendship along the way. The movie features plenty of humor and heartwarming moments between Scott and Hooch as they navigate their differences and work together towards justice. With help from veterinarian Emily Carson (played by Melody Kay), who becomes romantically interested in Scott, the two successfully track down Amos' killer and bring them to justice in this entertainment-packed action-comedy classic!
