In the remote countryside of Estonia, a reclusive elderly woman named Aliide takes in a young woman named Zara who has escaped from Russian human traffickers. As they navigate their fragile relationship, they discover that their lives are intertwined by shared experiences of violence and exploitation. Aliide's past, marked by the horrors of Stalin's regime and the deportation of her people, collides with Zara's recent trauma as a sex slave. The film unravels a complex web of secrets and revelations, ultimately revealing the tragic history of a family torn apart by the cruelest years in Estonian history.
