Newsies

In 1899, a group of child newspaper sellers, or "newsies," in New York City band together to fight against a tyrannical newspaper magnate who has raised the prices they have to pay for the papers they sell. Led by Jack "Cowboy" Kelly, a charismatic 17-year-old who dreams of escape his difficult life, the newsies organize a strike and battle against the powerful forces that seek to exploit them. With the help of a kind-hearted reporter and a vaudeville performer, the newsies fight for their rights and ultimately succeed in their mission. Along the way, Jack falls for Sarah, the sister of two of his fellow newsies, and must confront his own troubled past. Featuring catchy songs and energetic dance numbers, Newsies is a heartwarming and uplifting tale of courage and unity.
