What is Splash about? 
Splash is a 1984 American fantasy romantic comedy film directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah. The movie follows the story of Allen Bauer, a workaholic who is convinced he cannot fall in love until he is mysteriously rescued at sea by the mermaid of his dreams. Soon Allen and Madison (Daryl Hannah) are swept away by a hilarious and heartwarming romance. The film features a star-studded cast, including Eugene Levy and John Candy, and contains tobacco depictions.
