Soul Kitchen is a movie about a Greek restaurant owner named Zinos who is struggling to keep his business afloat in Hamburg. His girlfriend Nadine has left for Shanghai, his new chef Shayn's haute cuisine menu is driving away the old clientele, and Zinos has hurt his back and can't cook. To make matters worse, his brother Illias, a gambler and hustler, has been released from prison and is working at the restaurant against his will. Despite the setbacks, Zinos remains determined to turn the restaurant around and prove to Nadine that he can make it work. Along the way, he meets a physical therapist named Anna and begins to develop feelings for her. Meanwhile, Thomas Neumann, an old schoolmate of Zinos', has designs on purchasing the restaurant property and re-developing the site. As Zinos continues to juggle his personal and professional life, he must confront the possibility that Soul Kitchen may not be worth saving.
