...it’s inevitably ironic that this film arrives in the era of #MeToo, for if Scotty has shined a valuable light into some of Hollywood’s dark corners, he’s left others languishing in guilty obscurity.

The gas station he ran at 5777 Hollywood Boulevard was Tinseltown's best-kept open secret, the town's biggest and most discreet gay brothel, and it was all Bowers' creation.
