In feudal Japan, a masterless samurai named Kanjuro Nomi is on the run with his daughter Tae after he refuses to fight. With a price on his head, he's captured by a rival clan and sentenced to "The Thirty Days" - a chance to make the sad prince smile or face death by seppuku.
