What is Promised Land about? 
In the movie Promised Land, Steve Butler (Matt Damon) is a salesman for a natural gas company who is sent to a small town to convince the residents to allow his company to drill on their properties. The town is struggling economically, and Butler sees this as an opportunity to help them out.
