Midway

"Midway" tells the story of an epic battle that changed the course of history. After Japan's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States is drawn into World War II. The Japanese navy, led by Admiral Yamamoto, plans to invade Midway Island, but the American naval intelligence officer, Lieutenant Commander Edwin T. Layton, intercepts their signals and warns the U.S. Pacific Fleet commander-in-chief, Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, of the impending attack. The Americans prepare for a counterattack led by naval aviator Lieutenant Richard "Dick" Best and his Air Group from the USS Enterprise. The Battle of Midway ensues with intense air and sea battles between the two nations' forces with both sides suffering heavy losses but ultimately resulting in a decisive victory for America that turns the tide in favor of their allies over Japan."
