In a world where Pokémon and humans coexist, a group of thieves threatens to destroy the peaceful city of Alto Mare. Ash, Pikachu, and their friends must join forces with two legendary Pokémon, Latias and Latios, to stop the thieves and protect the city's powerful artifact, the Soul Dew. But as the battle rages on, Latios makes the ultimate sacrifice to save the city, leaving Latias and Ash to mourn his loss.
