Hysteria

In late 19th-century London, Dr. Mortimer Granville, a forward-thinking young physician, teams up with Dr. Robert Dalrymple, an expert in treating hysteria in women. Despite their differing approaches, they achieve remarkable success with their patients. However, when Mortimer's hand musculature fails him due to the high volume of clients, he turns to his friend Lord Edmund St. John-Smythe for help. They modify Edmund's electrical feather duster into a vibrator and use it on their patients with astounding results. With its growing popularity and the royalties from its sale, Mortimer becomes independently wealthy and pursues a romantic relationship with Charlotte Dalrymple while continuing their work together to establish a clinic at her settlement house in East London.
