The film is a curative for the romanticism of "The Godfather" and "Scarface." The characters are the foot soldiers of the Camorra, the crime syndicate based in Naples that is larger than the Mafia but less known.

What is Gomorrah about? Toggle content

In the crime-ridden streets of Naples, the Camorra mafia holds sway, and its residents live in fear. Gomorrah weaves together five interconnected stories of people trapped in this violent world, where power, money, and blood are the only currencies that matter. A timid money distributor, a young boy who stumbles upon a drug stash, a skilled tailor working for the Camorra's fashion empire, a ruthless clan leader, and an innocent man caught in the crossfire – their lives all intersect in a brutal struggle for survival. Based on Roberto Saviano's best-selling book, this award-winning film offers a stark portrayal of one of Italy's most notorious organized crime groups.
