Fireproof

Fireproof is a 2008 American Christian drama film directed by Alex Kendrick, who also co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Stephen Kendrick. Sherwood Pictures, the film's production company, released it. The film tells the story of a married couple, Caleb and Catherine Holt (played by Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea), who are facing marital problems. Caleb, a heroic fire captain, values dedication and service above all else, but he struggles with his personal life. He and Catherine have been married for seven years but have drifted apart due to various issues. They decide to divorce but are encouraged by Caleb's father to try a 40-day experiment called "The Love Dare" to attempt to save their marriage. The film follows Caleb's journey as he works to improve his relationship with Catherine and re-establish their love for each other. It was filmed on a budget of $500,000, and its box office run was successful, topping $33 million worldwide along with Facing the Giants, which grossed $11 million worldwide on a similar production budget of $100
