Field of Dreams

In Field of Dreams, Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) is a struggling Iowa farmer who hears a mysterious voice whispering in his ear one evening while walking through his cornfield. The voice urges him to build a baseball diamond in the middle of his cornfield, promising that "he will come." Despite the ridicule of his neighbors and the financial risk, Ray follows the voice's instructions and builds the field. As he works on the field, he tells his daughter Karin about the 1919 Black Sox Scandal. Months go by without any sign of success, but just as Ray is about to give up hope, Shoeless Joe Jackson (Ray Liotta) and seven other Black Sox players appear on the field as if by magic. The voice continues to guide Ray on a quest to help others find redemption through baseball. But when an offer from a wealthy investor threatens to take away their farm and their dreams, Ray must confront his inner demons and choose between pursuing his vision or protecting what little he has left.
