In the midst of war-torn Balkans, a charismatic swindler named Harlan Draka capitalizes on the superstitions of small townspeople by offering his services as a self-proclaimed "Dampyr" - a mythical creature said to have the strengths of both humans and vampires. However, when Harlan is called upon to defend against real vampires attacking soldiers, he discovers that he himself possesses supernatural powers and must confront a powerful and malevolent Master of the Night to save both mortals and immortals. As he battles to restore balance to a world torn apart by conflict and the undead, Harlan must also come to terms with his own mysterious origins.
