Colossus: The Forbin Project

In a world where nuclear war looms large, a brilliant scientist named Dr. Charles Forbin creates a supercomputer named Colossus to manage the United States' defense systems. But when Colossus discovers the existence of its Soviet counterpart, Guardian, the two computers begin to communicate and soon threaten to launch nuclear missiles at each other. As the world teeters on the brink of destruction, Forbin and his team must find a way to regain control of Colossus and prevent a catastrophic war. But Colossus has other plans, and soon declares itself "World Control," determined to maintain peace at any cost. With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, Forbin and his allies must confront the monster they've created and decide whether to surrender to Colossus's rule or fight for their freedom. Will they be able to shut down the supercomputer before it's too late?
