Bully

Based on a true story, Bully follows a group of disillusioned teenagers in Florida who conspire to murder their friend, Bobby Kent, a charismatic but aggressive young man who has been physically and emotionally abusing them for years. The group, including Bobby's best friend, Marty Puccio, and his girlfriend, Lisa Connelly, plan to lure Bobby to a secluded location and kill him, but their initial attempt fails when Lisa is unable to pull the trigger. They later hire a supposed hitman, Derek Kaufman, to help them carry out the deed. The group's dynamics and motivations are revealed through a series of flashbacks as they are interrogated by police and face trial for their involvement in Bobby's murder. The film's title refers not only to Bobby's bullying behavior but also to the toxic masculinity and violence that permeate the lives of these young people. Bully is a raw and unflinching portrayal of the devastating consequences of peer pressure, abuse, and the search for identity in a world where violence and aggression are often glorified.
