In a hazy, mystical world, a young man named Ruben lives with his mother in a grand mansion. Ruben has been blind since childhood, and his mother hopes to ease his troubled soul by hiring Marie, an albino woman with a beautiful voice, to read to him. As Marie's words paint vivid pictures in Ruben's mind, the two lonely souls begin to fall in love. But when Ruben undergoes a miraculous recovery and regains his sight, will their love still be blind?
