Beast

Beast is a 2017 drama-crime-mystery film directed by Michael Pearce and starring Jessie Buckley, Johnny Flynn, Emily Taaffe, Geraldine James, Trystan Gravelle, Oliver Maltman, Charley Palmer Rothwell, Shannon Tarbet, Olwen Fouéré, Tim Woodward, and Imogen de Ste Croix. The movie is set on the island of Jersey and follows the story of Moll (Jessie Buckley), a troubled 27-year-old woman who works as a tour guide and lives with her wealthy parents. She is treated poorly by her family and feels suffocated by their controlling behavior. One night, she meets Pascal (Johnny Flynn), a mysterious outsider who is suspected of committing a series of brutal murders on the island. Despite the danger surrounding him, Moll finds herself drawn to Pascal and they begin a relationship. As their relationship deepens, Moll learns that Pascal has a troubled past and was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl when he was 18. She also discovers that he is the main suspect in the recent murders on the island. Despite this knowledge, Moll chooses to stand by Pascal and defends him against the accusations. She moves into his house and they share moments of intimacy together. The police are determined to catch Pascal and arrest him for the murders. They interrogate Moll about her relationship with Pascal but she refuses to cooperate with them; instead she lies about meeting him at her birthday party where he rescued her from an assault attempt by another man .
