In a dystopian future, Syd March, an employee at a clinic that sells live viruses harvested from sick celebrities to obsessed fans, becomes infected with a deadly disease that killed off a pop star. He must fight off rabid fans and his own immune system to uncover the truth behind the disease's origin before it's too late. Along the way, he discovers that the virus was intentionally engineered with a security measure to prevent analysis and that the clinic's exclusive celebrity Hannah Geist is actually still alive. As Syd's condition worsens, he traces the original strain of the virus to a rival company and negotiates a deal with them to exclusively sell the pathogen. The film ends with Syd working for the new company, Vole & Tesser, where Hannah's cells have been replicated to form a distorted cell garden, and viruses injected into her system are sold. Syd's obsession with Hannah takes a dark turn as he drinks her blood, revealing that the arm he cut is in fact Hannah's.
