In a near-future city, Gwen Koh, a middle-aged woman, faces job insecurity due to her age. She takes matters into her own hands and undergoes a drastic experimental procedure to transfer her consciousness into a new body, becoming younger and racially ambiguous. However, the procedure is not without risks and Gwen's relationship with her daughter, Jules, is put to the test. The film highlights themes of ageism and workplace discrimination, racism, and income gap. Despite its futuristic setting, Advantageous reflects current societal issues and challenges viewers to think critically about the value we place on youth, beauty, and identity.
