The movie is at its best, though, when it’s simply allowing these oddballs to bounce off of one another, as if they were ordinary roomies who just happen to have fangs.

...an irrepressibly charming B-movie that never over-stays its welcome, and is both conceptually clever and admirably well-executed.

The rigour with which their hideous and crepuscular world is imagined, combined with the continuous flow of top-quality gags, makes this a treat from first to last.

Clement is suitably magnetic as the would-be Lothario Vlad, but it’s Waititi, as possibly filmdom’s most courteous vampiric host to date, who steals the show.
