Wilson

Wilson, a neurotic misanthrope played by Woody Harrelson, has been living a solitary life in Minnesota with his dog, Pepper. After his friend Robert moves away and his father dies from cancer, Wilson decides to track down his estranged wife Pippi (Laura Dern), who he hasn't seen in 17 years. With the help of Alta (Margo Martindale), Wilson finds Pippi working as a waitress at a lakeside restaurant. They have a tense reunion but eventually warm up to each other again and spend time together. Pippi reveals that she didn't abort their child as claimed but instead gave her up for adoption. Wilson is stunned yet elated by this news and sets out on a mission to find his teenage daughter Claire (Isabella Amara). Through various encounters with colorful characters, Wilson manages—in his peculiar, over-the-top, and slightly twisted way—to connect with Claire; the three begin a journey to form a family bond like no other.
