The Machine In 1999, college freshman Bert Kreischer embarks on a trip to Russia, where he befriends a tour guide named Igor and becomes "The Machine," a legend in Russian folklore. Fast forward 23 years, Bert is now a stand-up comedian and podcaster, but his success is overshadowed by his strained relationship with his wife and elder daughter. During a family cookout, Bert is unexpectedly reunited with his estranged father Albert, only to be confronted by Irina, a Russian mobster seeking revenge for Bert's inadvertent theft of an antique pocket watch.
