The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec is a fantasy adventure film set in early 20th century Paris. The movie follows the journey of Adèle Blanc-Sec, a young and intrepid journalist, as she navigates a magical world filled with mummies, freaks, and living dinosaurs. After returning from Egypt with a genopstanden mumie, Adèle discovers that a 136 million year old pterodactyl egg has mysteriously hatched at the National Museum of Natural History, spreading panic throughout the city. With the help of her nemesis, Professor Dieuleveult, and her ally, Inspector Albert Caponi, Adèle embarks on a thrilling adventure to save her comatose sister Agathe and uncover the truth behind the pterosaur's attacks. Along the way, she encounters Espérandieu - a professor experimenting with telepathic techniques - who is able to revive Ramesses II's mummified doctor/physician Patmosis. The movie features an ensemble cast including Louise Bourgoin as Adèle Blanc-Sec and Mathieu Amalric as Dieuleveult.
