The Devil's Violinist

The Devil's Violinist tells the story of Niccolò Paganini, a virtuoso violinist who became famous in 19th century Europe for his incredible talent and his scandalous personal life. Paganini's manager, Urbani, tries to keep his client's infamy at bay while also profiting from his talent. When Paganini falls in love with his manager's protege, a young and talented soprano, Urbani becomes jealous and arranges for a courtesan to seduce Paganini, thus ruining any chance of a relationship between the two. Paganini continues to perform and tour, but his life of excess eventually catches up with him, leading to illness and an early death. The film explores themes of talent, fame, love, and the high cost of living a life of excess.
