Der vorbestrafte Ex-Fußballer Ivo (Frederick Lau) lernt den hochtalentierten Nachwuchsspieler Lukas kennen. Ivo unterstützt den Jungen bei dessen Traum von der Profikarriere - auch, um den Schmerz seines eigenen geplatzten Traums zu lindern. Als sich Ivo in Lukas Mutter Vera (Antje Traue) verliebt, scheint sich ihm tatsächlich ein neues Leben zu eröffnen. Doch seine kriminelle Vergangenheit holt ihn ein: Der charismatische Dejan (Oliver Masucci) wird auf Ivo aufmerksam und verwickelt ihn immer weiter in illegale Machenschaften abseits des Fußballsports.
