In a coastal town in Malaysia, a group of high school students are struggling to find their place in a world that is rapidly changing around them. Ming, a charismatic and carefree student, is obsessed with spending time with his childhood sweetheart Mei Ann, while his history teacher Ms. Lim is determined to protect the town from the negative effects of a new rare earth plant. As the plant's construction progresses, the students and their community are drawn into a series of events that will change their lives forever. Against the backdrop of environmental degradation and social unrest, they must confront their own beliefs and values, and learn to find their place in a world that is rapidly losing its innocence.
