Personal Best is a thought-provoking drama that explores the complex relationship between two female athletes as they train and compete against each other in the lead up to the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Mariel Hemingway and Patrice Donnelly deliver powerful performances as Chris Cahill and Tory Skinner, two women who start out as friends and teammates but find their relationship evolving into something more. With the guidance of their coach, Terry Tingloff (Scott Glenn), they push themselves to their limits, both physically and emotionally. As tensions rise and the stakes become higher, Personal Best raises questions about the nature of competition, jealousy, and desire.
