Poraali is a heartwarming tale of Kumaran and Nallavan, two friends who escape from a mental asylum and start a new life in Chennai. They find jobs at a fuel station and Nallavan falls for his co-worker Tamilarasi. Kumaran, however, has constant run-ins with his neighbor Bharathi, a movie dancer.
