One Fine Morning

Sandra's life is turned upside down when her father, Georg, is diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease that affects his cognitive and sight abilities. As a single mother working as a translator and interpreter in Paris, Sandra has her hands full with her young daughter Linn and her ailing father. When she runs into Clément, an old friend who is now a married chemical cosmologist, they start an affair that adds another layer of complexity to Sandra's already stressful life. As Georg's condition worsens, Sandra and her family struggle to find the perfect nursing home for him, facing obstacles such as long waiting lists and high costs. In the meantime, Sandra and Clément's relationship becomes harder to maintain, especially when Clément cannot bring himself to leave his wife and son for Sandra. Throughout the film, we see glimpses of Georg's past through his notebooks, which he used to keep track of his declining health and his autobiography. During Christmas dinner, Sandra discovers one of the notebooks has a title written in German: "One Fine Morning", which becomes the film's title. The film explores themes of family, love, mortality and the complexities of human relationships, with a cast of talented actors including Léa Seydoux, Pascal Greggoryand Melvil Poupaud, who bring depth and emotion to their characters. Directed by Mia Hansen-Løve, "One Fine Morning" is a poignant and thought-provoking film that will leave audiences reflecting on their own lives long after the credits roll.
