Laurence Anyways tells the story of a high school teacher who has always felt like he was living a lie - he's been living as a man, but he's always felt like he's meant to be a woman. He decides to make the transition and start living as a woman named Laurence, but this decision is met with resistance from those closest to him, including his girlfriend and family. Despite the challenges they face, Laurence finds support and love from his girlfriend Fred, who stands by him through his journey.
