Far from Jordbro tells the story of the next generation of Jordbro families, forty years after the first film was released. The children of the original families have grown up and moved away from the area where their stories began. They have started their own families and are now living their own lives, with their own struggles and dreams. The film follows the journeys of Elena in Australia, Krisoulas' sons in Greece, Amanda's fight to build a home in the countryside, Marcus and Lucas' dreams of summer vacations with their grandparents, and Kim in Gothenburg, who misses the father she never knew. The film is the seventh installment in the Jordbro series, spanning 1972-2014.
