Victor Hugo - Enemy of the State

Victor Hugo, Ennemi d'État is a historical drama series set in 1848 Paris, following the life of the famous author and his struggles between family, love, and political turmoil. As a royalist, Hugo supports the republic and Louis Napoléon Bonaparte's presidency, but soon realizes he's been used by the new government. When his sons are imprisoned for rebellion and his wife and daughter are forced to flee Paris, Hugo stands up against oppression and becomes an enemy of the state, facing exile and defamation for his beliefs.
