The Butler

Set against the backdrop of 20th century Europe, this film tells the story of an orphaned boy, Mateusz Krol, who is raised by an aristocratic family in a northern Polish region called Kashubia. As he grows up, Mateusz struggles with his own identity and forbidden love for Marita von Krauss, a member of the family who took him in. Meanwhile, three nations fight for control over Kashubia, causing turmoil and devastation in the region. The film explores themes of identity, love, and power struggles during a time of great historical upheaval.
