Sisterhood

In the 1930s, two women from Guangdong province, Ouyang Tian Qing and Kuang Cai Yun, embark on a journeyic Nanyang region to find work and build new lives. Tian Qing becomes the leader of a group of female construction workers and catches eyes of both a wealthy man, Jia Fu, and a poor man, A Le. Meanwhile, Cai Yun becomes a nanny for a wealthy family but is treated poorly. She finds solace in her friendship with the young Hu Yaozu, who eventually drives her away to protect her and goes abroad to study. During the Japanese invasion, A Le joins the military and Tian Qing is forced to build a shrine for the occupying forces. On the day of its completion, A Le leads a rebellion and rescues Tian Qing, burning down the shrine. Cai Yun, who has undergone many hardships, awaits the return of Yaozu.
