In the midst of war, A Mai, a young woman disguised as a man, seeks revenge for her family's murder. Her journey takes her across the lands, where she rescues Shang Yizhi, the son of the Crown Princess, and helps him evade danger. Their paths intertwine as they face the brutalities of war together. A Mai rises through the military ranks, becoming a skilled commander, while Shang Yizhi struggles to survive. They cross paths with the enemy general Chang Yu Qing, and their encounters lead to unexpected events that test their courage and loyalty. As the war rages on, A Mai must make a difficult decision for the sake of her country's future. Will she choose to pursue her personal vendetta or protect the greater good?
