Ride Upon the Storm follows the story of a family of priests in Denmark, who have served the church for over 250 years. The patriarch, Johannes, is a strict and traditional priest who is determined to become the first bishop in the family's history. However, his hopes are dashed when he is defeated by a progressive female candidate in the election for Bishop of Copenhagen. His disappointment and frustration lead him to make difficult choices that affect his relationships with his wife and two sons, August and Kristian. August is a priest who wants to follow in his father's footsteps, while Kristian has dropped out of seminary and struggles to find his place in the world. As tensions rise within the family, they must navigate their own paths and confront their differences in faith, love, and loyalty.
