Waiting to Exhale

Waiting to Exhale is a romantic drama film that follows the lives of four African American women, Savannah, Bernadine, Robin, and Gloria, as they navigate their relationships and search for true love. The movie takes place over the course of a year and explores themes of friendship, love, and self-discovery. The film opens with Savannah, a successful television producer, who is in a long-term relationship with a married man. She believes that he will eventually leave his wife for her, but when he doesn't, she is left feeling hurt and confused. Bernadine, a mother of two, has put her own dreams on hold to support her husband's career. However, when he announces that he is leaving her for a white woman, Bernadine is devastated and struggles to come to terms with her new reality. Robin is an executive who has been in a long-term affair with a married man. When his wife discovers their relationship and confronts Robin at work (in front of all their coworkers), Robin decides she doesn't want to be "the other woman" anymore and ends things with him; meanwhile Gloria runs her own beauty salon business where she often talks about how much she misses male companionship (and sex). As the four friends navigate their personal struggles they support each other through it all: celebrating birthdays together month after month as they mark another year older waiting patiently - hoping against hope -for Mr Right! One night while out partying on New Year's Eve(during which time we see flashback moments from each lady's backstory up until this point), Savannah meets handsome bachelor Kenneth whom she quickly develops feelings for but things get complicated soon enough since Kenneth turns out ot be married himself albeit unhappily so...what choices will these ladies make when faced withe challenge between what seems right versus what feels right? Will Brennie take back cheating husband John after burning everything he owns? Does Robin finally find someone worthy enough or does karmic retribution come full circle instead?
