Aava's greatest desire is to have a dog, but her parents are too busy fighting to notice her wish. In a moment of desperation, her father makes a promise he doesn't intend to keep: if Aava walks around the block with a stick every day, she can have a dog. Determined to make her dream come true, Aava sets out on a journey of self-discovery and growth, while her parents' relationship crumbles around her.
