Dr. Henry Carter is a renowned psychiatrist in Hollywood, known for his expertise in treating celebrities with various mental health issues. However, Henry's personal life is a different story. He has lost his wife to suicide, and he himself is struggling with addiction and a sense of purposelessness. Despite this, he continues to see patients and provide them with the help they need. One of his newest patients is Jemma, a troubled high school student who is required to see a therapist after cutting her hand. Jemma is a film enthusiast who aspires to become a filmmaker, and Henry finds himself drawn to her unique perspective on life. As their sessions progress, Henry begins to confront his own issues and finds himself questioning his ability to help his patients. Meanwhile, Jeremy, a young screenwriter, becomes interested in Jemma and secretly steals her private file from Henry's office.
