In a not-so-distant future, the world has become alarmingly absurd, where intelligence has been replaced by rampant ignorance and mindless consumerism. Joe Bauers, an average soldier with no remarkable qualities, is accidentally unfrozen after being placed in hibernation for 500 years as part of a government experiment. To his shock, he discovers that he’s now the smartest person on Earth in this dystopian society filled with vapid entertainment and ridiculous inventions. With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance and a comically incompetent government at play, Joe must navigate this new world while trying to restore some semblance of intelligence and order. Bursting with satire and outlandish humor, "Idiocracy" explores themes of societal decline through its absurd characters and outrageous situations that force us to question what it means to be smart in an increasingly foolish world.
