Cedar Rapids

Cedar Rapids is a 2011 American comedy film directed by Miguel Arteta and written by Phil Johnston. The film stars Ed Helms, John C. Reilly, Anne Heche, and Isiah Whitlock Jr. The movie follows Tim Lippe (Helms), a naive and idealistic insurance agent from a small town in Wisconsin, who is sent to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a convention to save the jobs of his co-workers. Tim is a virgin and has never been away from home before, and he soon finds himself out of his depth in the big city. At the convention, Tim meets Dean (Reilly), a veteran insurance agent and party animal, who takes Tim under his wing and introduces him to a world of partying, drinking, and women. Tim also meets a seductive soccer mom named Macy (Heche), who becomes the object of his desire. As the weekend progresses, Tim finds himself getting more and more embroiled in Dean's wild lifestyle, and he begins to question his own values and beliefs. Will Tim be able to survive the convention and return home unscathed? Or will he succumb to the temptations of the big city and lose himself in the process?
