125 Years Memory

In the 1890s, a devastating typhoon sank a Turkish frigate off the coast of Japan, leaving only 69 survivors. The local villagers, despite their poverty, risked their lives to rescue the sailors and shared their meager resources with them. 95 years later, during the Iran-Iraq War, more than 300 Japanese were stranded in Tehran. In a remarkable gesture of compassion and gratitude, the Turkish government evacuated the Japanese using a Turkish Airlines aircraft, despite the danger of Iraqi retaliation. This powerful and inspiring film tells the story of two historical incidents that deepened the friendship between Japan and Turkey.
