Not a terrible movie, it had some really terrific moments - but the entire first 20 minutes just felt like unnecessary exposition that could have been integrated in the movie or left for the viewer to deduce.. I think exposition is my biggest beef with this movie: characters telling us what they’re doing instead of just showing us. Sometimes the acting also just felt very stiff and forced, the whole dinner scene was a great example of that.. Mark Ruffalo’s semi-Trumpian role also just didn’t work for me.. and what was up with the character Kai going from mourning to horny in 10 seconds after she gets Mickey alone in her room? I sighed out loud in the theater at that point.. ending on a positive: Robert Pattinson was terrific, especially his dual portrayal of Mickey was amazing. Worth a watch but flawed movie - and maybe a bit forgettable.
