Terra Formars

Quite entertaining, but absolutely absurd plot, with characters that appear for a handful of scenes before they're blown into smithereens, and ridiculous alien enemies that are so invincible, it seems like a bad joke. But the action is silly and fun enough to keep your interest throughout. Based on a manga of the same name (which undoubtedly must have been better than this). The director Takashi Miike is a legend, but this is definitely not his finest work of art though.
